This course is designed to be a short intensive introduction to the processes of pottery making. Mainly Handbuilding and Wheel Work.
Included in the cost of the course, is the finishing, glazing, and two firings of one item that you have made. Any further items that you wish to keep will be charged at £6.25 + VAT, £7.50 each. For this, the tutor will finish, glaze, and put them through 2 firings for you. The pots are then ready to collect, normally within 4 – 6 weeks.
It is important to understand that this session is a “TASTER”, and finished results can be unexpected, due to the differences in student ability and the inherent nature of kiln firings, which can always seem to be unpredictable.
We compare learning to work with clay to learning to drive a car. Many skills need to be learned, in order for them to come together and be mastered. This takes time and practice.
Clay can be messy, so please dress for outdoor play.
Long nails can really inhibit your creativity with clay, so please do remember to trim them.
Bring a clean wipeable apron and an old hand towel to each class.
The last 20 minutes of each class is dedicated to cleaning up.
Please check your Spam and Junk folders for your confirmation email, after having booked this class.
