Tuesday Evening Wheelwork For Beginners and Improvers with Ian Gwynne November December 2019

This 7 week course starts on 5th November 2019, and will take place every Monday evening from 7.00pm – 9.30pm on the following dates.

  • 5th November
  • 12th November
  • 19th November
  • 26th November
  • 3rd December
  • 10th December
  • 17th December

This course takes place over seven weeks.  Each class runs for 2 1/2 hours.  During the course you will learn how to,  “wedge”/prepare the clay for throwing and throw pots on the potter’s wheel.  On the wheel you will learn centering, and then methods to make vessels.  You will also learn “turning”, the process of tidying up the base of your pots.   You will learn about surface decoration using coloured slips and various glazing techniques.

Dress for out door play, as clay can be messy, and do trim long nails, as they will impact on your artistic flare with clay!

Please bring a clean wipeable apron and an old hand towel with you to each session.

We are thrilled that talented thrower Ian Gwynne, has by popular demand, added another evening class at Sundragon in November.  Ian’s throwing is all about refinement of form, and experimental surface decoration
