This Thursday Afternoon pottery class offers you the opportunity to come along to our beautiful brand new Classroom, in The Old Print Works, and have a play with clay.
If you are brand new to clay, or just want to develop your skills, then you are welcome in this class.
You will be supported in your learning, throughout.
You will cover various surface decoration techniques, including using using coloured slips and glazes.
During this course, students will also learn “good studio practice”.
This six week course starts on Thursday 16th June, and will take place every Thursday Evening from 7.00pm – 9.30pm, on the following dates:
Pottery is a messy business. Please bring a clean wipeable apron, and a small hand towel, with you to each session.
Also, please trim your nails, as long nails can really inhibit your learning with clay.
The last 20 minutes of each session are dedicated to cleaning up.

We take everyone’s health and safety very seriously!
Anyone in self-isolation or with COVID-19 symptoms must NOT visit the studio. Under any circumstances.
We may take your temperature, on arrival
The heated studio has large windows, that will be open, and there will be an extractor fan on.
Masks must be worn in the studio at all times.
Hand Sanitizer must be used before you enter the studio, and when you leave.

With demand at a peak for pottery courses, we are delighted that Kate Wade has decided to teach on a Thursday afternoon, this coming Summer term, at Sundragon!
Maybe you’ve always wanted to have a go on the potter’s wheel, but have not had the chance, yet? Or, perhaps you want to sharpen your skills? Then this is the pottery class for you.
Kate will teach you all about clay preparation, and share some handbuilding techniques with you. You will learn how to use the potter’s wheel, and methods for decoration and glazing
