This six week course starts on Thursday 7th November 2019, and
will take place every Thursday Afternoon from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, in our studio on the lower ground floor at the Moseley School of Art on the following dates:
This class is for secondary age students, ONLY. Parents do not have to stay, but are required to sign a consent form. There will always be two members of staff during this class.
This course takes place over six weeks, for 2 hours including tidying up time.
During the course you will explore all the basic methods for handbuilding pots and sculpture. We will use simple forms and moulds to produce pots and sculptures which we will decorate with slips, biscuit fire and then glaze.
We will explore coil building and slab building to create individual pots and sculptures, and in the last few weeks we can try the potters wheel. At the end of the course you should have a thorough understanding of how to utilise clay and its working methods.
Please dress for outdoor play as clay can
be messy, trim long nails, make sure
long hair is tied up. Please bring a clean
wipeable apron and an old hand towel and an old pair of shoes to wear in the pottery to each session and change them on entry and departure to keep the building clean!
We are delighted that Austin Gannon is coming to Sundragon to teach after school pottery! This is something we have been asked to provide for a long time, so it is with great pleasure that we are now able to add this course to our ever growing list!
