This 6 week course starts on Sunday 1st March 2020, and will take place every Sunday morning, from 10.30am – 1.30pm, on the following dates.
This new course, takes place over six weeks.
We at Sundragon feel this is an ideal starting point for those interested in clay work, of any kind.
For those interested in taking a wheel work course, we highly recommend starting with this beginner course first.
During this course you will learn some hand building techniques, and through this you will get “to know” clay, You will also have a go at working on the potters wheel. The knowledge gained from handing clay in the initial weeks will greatly help getting used to wheel work.
On the wheel you will learn centering, and then methods to make vessels. You will also learn “turning”, the process of tidying up the base of your pots. You will learn about surface decoration using coloured slips and various glazing techniques.
Dress for out door play, as clay can be messy, and do trim long nails, as they will impact on your artistic flare with clay!
Please bring a clean wipeable apron and an old hand towel with you to each session.
Sundragon are thrilled Fiona is teaching this comprehensive beginner’s course. This is the ideal starting point for those interested in taking out Sundragon Membership.
We are not able to offer refunds or exchanges for course bookings. All bookings must be made prior to course start. Sundragon Pottery reserves the right to cancel and offer a full refund if there is an insufficient number of people booked onto the course.
