This 6 week course starts on Monday 6th January 2020, and will take place every Monday evening from 7.00pm – 9.30pm on the following dates.
This course takes place over six weeks. Each class runs for 2 1/2 hours. During the course you will learn how to, “wedge”/prepare the clay for throwing and throw pots on the potter’s wheel. On the wheel you will learn centering, and then methods to make vessels. You will also learn “turning”, the process of tidying up the base of your pots. You will learn about surface decoration using coloured slips and various glazing techniques.
Dress for out door play, as clay can be messy, and do trim long nails, as they will impact on your artistic flare with clay!
Please bring a clean wipeable apron and an old hand towel with you to each session.
We are thrilled that talented thrower Ian Gwynne, returns to Sundragon in November to share his skills on the potter’s wheel. Ian’s throwing is all about refinement of form, and experimental surface decoration.
We are not able to offer refunds or exchanges for course bookings. All bookings must be made prior to course start. Sundragon Pottery reserves the right to cancel and offer a full refund if there is an insufficient number of people booked onto the course.
