This Friday evening pottery class offers you the opportunity to come along to our beautiful Moseley School of Art Studio, and have a play with clay. If you are brand new to clay, or just want to develop your skills, then you are welcome in this class.
This course is student led, and will cover hand building and wheel work, and you will be supported throughout your journey.
You will cover various surface decoration techniques, including using using coloured slips and glazes. During this course, students will also learn “good studio practice”.
This five week course starts on Friday 25th June 2021, and will take place every Friday evening from 7.00pm – 9.30pm, in our studio in the basement of The Moseley School of Art, on the following dates:
Please remember Pottery can be a messy business.
Dress for outdoor play, and please bring an old hand towel and apron (preferably wipeable). We expect these to be taken home and cleaned for each session. Also, long nails are a problem, particularly when throwing on the potters wheel. Please do trim them before your lessons. Thank you.
The last 20 minutes of each session are dedicated to cleaning up.
We take everyone’s health and safety very seriously!
Anyone in self-isolation or with COVID-19 symptoms must NOT visit the studio. Under any circumstances.
We may take your temperature, on arrival
The heated studio has large windows, that will be open, and there will be an extractor fan on.
Masks must be worn in the studio at all times.
Hand Sanitizer must be used before you enter the studio, and when you leave.
We have restricted student numbers to 5 people, plus the tutor, in order that social distancing can be maintained.
Following the scientific advice on Covid-19, it may transpire that we have to cancel this run of courses.
Unfortunately, we will have to charge a £5 non-refundable deposit, to cover our costs, should the classes need to be cancelled
With demand at a peak for pottery courses, we are delighted that John Chamberlain has decided to teach on a Friday evening, this coming Summer term, at Sundragon!
