This Friday Evening pottery class offers you the opportunity to come along to our beautiful basement studio in Moseley School of Art, and have a play with clay.
If you are brand new to clay, or just want to develop your skills, then you are welcome in this class.
In this class you will cover many aspects of hand building and some wheel work. This course is student led, and you will be supported throughout your journey with clay
You will cover various surface decoration techniques, including using coloured slips and glazes.
During this course, students will also learn “good studio practice”.
This six week course starts on Friday 14th January 2022 and will take place every Friday Evening from 7.00pm – 9.30pm, on the following dates:
Pottery is a messy business. Please remember to bring a clean wipeable apron, and a small hand towel with you to each session. Also, please remember to trim your nails, as long nails can really inhibit your learning with clay.
The last 20 minutes of each session are dedicated to cleaning up.
Please check your junk and spam folders, for the confirmation email, after booking this course.
We take everyone’s health and safety very seriously!
Anyone in self-isolation or with COVID-19 symptoms must NOT visit the studio. Under any circumstances.
We may take your temperature, on arrival
The heated studio has large windows, that will be open, and there will be an extractor fan on.
Masks must be worn in the studio at all times.
Hand Sanitizer must be used before you enter the studio, and when you leave.
Following the scientific advice on Covid-19, it may transpire that we have to cancel this run of courses.
Unfortunately, we will have to charge a £5 non-refundable deposit, to cover our costs, should the classes need to be cancelled
With demand at a peak for pottery courses, we are delighted that John Chamberlain has decided to teach on a Friday Evenings, this coming Spring term at Sundragon Community Pottery.
Whether you want to hand build for the first time, maybe have a first go at throwing on the wheel, or just sharpen your skills in any pottery technique, then this general pottery class is for you.
