We are delighted to announce that Nessa Grimes, will be teaching at Sundragon this New Year.
Nessa’s work is all about trying out new ideas.
Nessa is a trained teacher, who now spends her life creating beautiful pottery.
This FIVE week course starts on Tuesday 9th January 2024 in our basement Studio 2 in Moseley School of Art.

The course will take place every Tuesday Evening from 7.00pm-9.30pm on the following dates.
During the course you will learn how to “wedge”/prepare the clay ready for making.
You will learn various methods of hand-building, and will also be taught the beginnings of throwing on the potters wheel.
You will learn about surface decoration using coloured slips and various glazing techniques.
Throughout the course you will also learn “good studio practice”, the art of keeping your work area as clean/tidy as possible, thus, benefiting everyone.

Clay can be messy, so please dress for outdoor play.
Long nails can really inhibit your creativity with clay, so please do remember to trim them.
Bring a clean wipeable apron and an old hand towel to each class.
The last 20 minutes of each class is dedicated to cleaning up.
