With demand at a peak for pottery courses, we are delighted that Katie Hess has decided to teach on Friday Afternoons this New Year at Sundragon!

This class offers you the opportunity to come along to our beautiful Moseley School of Art Studio, and have a play with clay.

In this class you will cover many aspects of hand building and some wheel work.  This course is student led, and you will be supported throughout your journey with clay

You will cover various surface decoration techniques, including using coloured slips and glazes.

During this course, students will also learn “good studio practice”.

This FIVE week course starts on  Friday 12th January 2024, and will take place every Friday afternoon from 1.30pm – 4.00pm, on the following dates:

  • 12th January
  • 19th January
  • 26th January
  • 2nd February
  • 9th February

Whether you want to hand build for the first time, maybe have a first go at throwing on the wheel, or just sharpen your skills in any pottery technique, then this general pottery class is for you.

Description

Please remember Pottery can be a messy business.

Dress for outdoor play, and please bring an old hand towel and apron (preferably wipe-able).  We expect these to be taken home and cleaned for each session.  Long nails are a problem, particularly when throwing on the potters wheel.  Please do trim them before your lessons.  Thank you.

The last 20 minutes of each session are dedicated to cleaning up.
