22 Jun Creative Health Alliance Project, Week 2
We have begun to gather all of the materials necessary for the creative clay packs that we will be sending out to people, as part of the project with Coventry and Warwickshire Creative Health Alliance (CWCHA).
Fiona, Claire and Layla worked on the initial application. Thank you Dave C for informing us about the opportunity. Katie, Austin, Fiona, Kate, Becky and Ian have collaboratively advised and designed the projects in the kit. They’ve also been taking lots of pictures too. Fiona is managing the project. Becky, Fiona, Kate and Layla have been researching prices and ordering components in their hundreds. Layla is doing all things digital and accounts.
Members of the Sundragon team have all been working remotely from their homes, ordering and designing the packs. There’s been lots of communications over the last month. The side of Sundragon that most people don’t see.
The kit contains materials and full instructions with ideas of things to make from air drying clay, as well as a few technical tips along the way.
Our ‘packer in chief’ is Kate, who’s a tutor and member at Sundragon Pottery. Her home is now a mini Sundragon site. Her family have been getting involved with helping arrange various packages around the house as well as getting stuck in (sorry Kate). As the components don’t arrive at the same time, Kate’s been able to get on with some prep work: sticks need sawing, clay needs cutting, cloth needs chopping.
Boxes are starting to be filled and some will be going out shortly to St. Basils Charity.
We’re really proud of the contents of the packs and we hope that the recipients enjoy creating with the air drying clay. If you work with a charitable organisation in Coventry or Warwickshire, supporting vulnerable children or adults in any capacity, get in touch as soon as possible. We have limited quantities available free of charge to those you support.
At Sundragon we’re doing things a little different but with exactly the same social aims. And there’s still more to come.
