Nafisa’s work

Nafisa Abiib is a studio neighbour and this is what she says about her work:

In my creative practice I focus on my own family culture with a carving style influenced by tomb stones and ancient architectural buildings in East Africa. I create organic forms carved from brick clay which are inspired by pebbles and seed pods. My intricate patterned surfaces are developed from observations of tree bark and geometry.
