About Samantha:

“Samantha Krankpod is a ceramic artist and Staffordshire University graduate, specialising in handmade ceramics. She has 15 years experience as a creative facilitator working with children, adults and families.”
I started exploring art and design at Bournville School of Art. I specialised in pottery because it was excitingly unpredictable. I was facinated by the way the raw material could be infinitely manipulated and transformed into something amazing.
I handmake embossed bowls, tiles and jewellery using terracotta clay and rich earthenware glazes. My work is very tactile and is nature inspired with reference to pods, seeds, leaves, flowers and birds.
One of my favourite ceramic artists is Magdalene Odundo. She hand coils pots to perfection and makes pieces you instinctively want to touch.
